The USCRA is designed to give calf ropers a fair and competitive chance to compete. Tiedown ropers are classified by using a number system (EE, 00, #1, #2, and #3). Breakaway ropers are classified by an Alphabet system (BA-B). All USCRA memberships come with a subscription to Loops Magazine. Loops Magazine is the source for calf roping information.

The Showdown Finals are the original finals of the USCRA. All competing members of the USCRA are eligible to compete at the Showdown level as long as they have competed at one roping during the regular season. The Showdown level consists of a Semi-Finals Qualifying Roping and the actual Showdown Finals. Showdown Positions are won by winning the average at a USCRA roping. Additional Showdown Positions are awarded to average winners based on the number of entries in that roping. 1-50 ropers = 1 Showdown Position
The other way to gain a position is to be in the top 10 in the average of the Semi-Finals. Only one showdown position can be won during the regular season, but a second position can be gained by entering the semi-finals and being in the top 10 average winners.
All competing members of the USCRA are eligible to compete for the World Finals as long as they have competed at one roping during the regular season. The World Finals will be divided into four quarters. The quartes will be based on a three month scale. 1st Quarter: October - December 2nd Quater: January - March 3rd Quarter: April - June 4th Quarter: July - September The top ten money earners from each quarter will advance to the World Finals. A roper may qualify for two positions in the World Finals. If a roper already has two positions the eleventh roper will be picked up to fill the tenth position. Two dollars is collected from the entry fees every time a roper enters a USCRA roping, which is added to the pot of each division at the world finals. A pre-determined prize will be given to the world champion of the EE, 00, #1, #2, #3 and BA-B roping divisions. |
